I became obsessed with triangular daisies when I found a **finished** auction for a triangular loom on Ebay. I had never seen another one so I drew up a shape for an ice-cream lid loom and this is the result 🙂
Edited some time later to add: I have since added a triangular loom to my collection but they’re still not commonly found on ebay.
Materials
- A copy of the triangular flower loom pattern.
- One flexible plastic ice cream container lid
- A biro
- A permanent marker
- Scissors
Print the template for your loom and tape it onto your plastic
Trace the shape by pressing hard with a biro so it leaves a mark on the plastic, then trace over the lines with a permanent marker.
Cut the loom out.
Wash thoroughly to remove the ink.
This is my loom, cut from an ice cream container lid. I also made a template for a half-size loom but it was too small to be of any use. | |
Triangular looms are used in exactly the same way as round and square looms. Just make sure to keep your petals separate at the corners. Click here for specific instructions if you can’t figure it out 🙂
I made a triangular daisy with a satin stitch centre surrounded by two rounds of stem stitch. |

My finished triangular flower before I crocheted around the edge.
For the crocheted edge I worked a double crochet (US single crochet) into each petal, separated by 4 chain |
