Cast on 40 sts and knit 1 row.

Row 1 (RS): sl 1, k2, yo, p2tog, k3, (yo, k2tog) 15 times, yo, k2

Row 2 and all wrong side rows: knit to last 5sts, yo, p2tog, k3

Row 3: sl 1, k2, yo, p2tog, k6, (yo, k2tog) 14 times, yo, k2

Row 5: sl 1, k2, yo, p2tog, k9, (yo, k2tog) 13 times, yo, k2

Row 7: sl 1, k2, yo, p2tog, k12, (yo, k2tog) 12 times, yo, k2

Row 9: sl 1, k2, yo, p2tog, k15, (yo, k2tog) 11 times, yo, k2
