Rose leaf lace insertion knit from a Victorian era knitting pattern

from “The Ladies’ Guide to Elegant Lace Patterns, Etc.”

The sample shows five vertical repeats of the pattern. It was knit with size 10 perle cotton on 2.25mm needles and measures 9½ cm/3½” wide

This pattern is similar to the Double Rose Leaf Insertion from Home Work, published in 1891, but it has more rows and columns of lace fagoting down either side.
