Handspun ribbed hat, spun and knit by Sarah BradberryWhen you purl the stitch after the cable, try wrapping the wool around the needle in the opposite way that you normally would. For instance, I usually wrap the wool front to back over the top, then underneath bringing it forward and pull through. If I wrap the wool around from the front to the back and go underneath then pull through, I actually use fractionally less wool so the stitch is tighter
