aran (sweater typical of Aran Islands off the coast of Ireland); aran weight(describes yarn of medium weight, suitable for knitting at gauge of 16 to 20 stitches per 10cm (= 4 inches), with 4.5 – 5.5mm needles (US7 – US9), (No. 4 in Standard Yarn Weight System aran (sweater typisk for Aran Islands ud for Irlands kyst); aran vægt (beskriver garn af medium vægt, velegnet til strikning ved strikkefasthed på 16 til 20 masker pr. 10 cm (= 4 inches), med 4,5 – 5,5 mm nåle (US 7 – US 9), (No. 4 i Standard Garn Vægt System)
