The Slithering Scarf

Free knitting pattern for a scarf in th shape of a snake.

Fairisle novelty scarf that looks like a snake with free knitting pattern

I knit the sample scarf using the colour change yarn I dyed in the cold pad dyeing tutorial but you can use any colour of your choice as the background. You might like to try a subtle variegated yarn or even the colours of your favourite footy team!

Size

Approximately 140cm long and 10cm wide along patterned length. (ie: head is slightly wider, tail is thinner).

Materials

Approx 160m black 8 ply wool for the fairisle patterning and 330m of variegated wool for the background colour.

A scrap of red 8 ply wool for the forked tongue.

I used about 75gm of Jo Sharp Classic DK 8 ply wool in colour black and 150gm of natural which I dyed using the colour-change yarn method in my cold pad dyeing tutorial.
