4 skeins “Sun-Glo” Shrinkproof 3-ply Fingering Wool, Shade No. 2163; 1 skein each of Shade Nos. 2252 (Rose), 2162 (Pink), 2111 (Green), 2185 (Yellow);
2 prs. needles, UK Nos 9/3.75mm/US 5 and UK 12/2.75mm/US 2
1 crochet hook,
3 press studs.
Measurements
Length from top of shoulder, 20″;
bust, 32/ 34″;
length of sleeve seam, 5″.
Note: For 36″ bust, use UK No 8/4mm/US 6 instead of No. 9 needles.
Tension
6 sts, 1″; 8 rows, 1″.

K: Knit.
P: Purl.
St: Stitch.
Tog: Together.
Sl: Slip
Yo: Yarn over
Psso: Pass slip stitch over.
Tbl: Through back of loops.
DC: Double crochet. (US single crochet)
Bl: blue.
St st (Stocking Stitch): K1 row, P1 row alternately.
Garter St: Knit every row.
Moss st: With an uneven number of sts work as follows: K1,* P1, K1, repeat from * to end of row. Repeat this row throughout.
With an even number of sts work as follows:
1st Row: * K1, P1, repeat from * to end of row.
2nd Row: * P1, K1, repeat from * to end of row.
Repeat 1st and 2nd row alternately.
Pattern
Back
Using No. 12 needles and Bl wool, cast on 100 sts
Work in rib of K1, P1 , for 3½” (working 1st row into back of sts).
Change to No. 9 needles, increase on wrong side of work as follows: * P 11, P twice into next st, repeat from * to last 4
sts, P4 (108 sts}.
Work in following pattern and colours:
1st Row: Change to pink wool, k
2nd Row: P
3rd Row: K2tog twice,* k twice into next 4 sts, K2tog 4 times, repeat from *, ending last repeat with K2tog twice instead of 4 times.
4th Row: P
5th Row: Using blue wool, k
6th Row: K
7th Row: P
8th Row: K
9th Row: Using rose wool, k
10th Row: P
11th Row: K2tog twice, * k twice into next 4 sts, K2tog 4 times, repeat from *, ending last repeat with K2tog twice instead of 4 times.
12th Row: P
13th Row: Using blue wool, k
14th Row: K
15th Row: P
16th Row: K
17th Row: Using yellow wool, k
18th Row: P
19th Row: K2tog twice, * k twice into next 4 sts, K2tog 4 times, repeat from *, ending last repeat with K2tog twice instead of 4 times.

Repeat the last 32 rows and when work measures 12½” shape armholes by casting off 4 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows, decrease 1 st each end of the next 4 rows, then every 2nd row 4 times.
Continue in pattern until armholes measure 7″.
Shape shoulders by casting off 9 sts at the beginning of the next 6 rows.
Cast off.
Front
Work the same as for back until armholes measure 4½”.
Shape neck as follows: Work 34 sts (leave on spare needle), cast off 16 sts, work 34 sts
Work on last 34 sts and decrease 1 st at neck edge on next 4 rows, then every 2nd row until decreased to 27 sts
When armhole measures 7″ shape shoulder by casting off 9 sts at armhole edge every 2nd row 3 times.
Join wool to other sts and work to correspond.
Sleeves
Using No. 12 needles and blue wool, cast on 84 sts
Work in rib of K1, P1 for 1½” (working 1st row into back of sts).
Change to No. 9 needles and work in pattern as for back
When work measures 5″ shape sleeve by decreasing 1 st each end of every 2nd row until decreased to 38 sts, then every row until decreased to 20 sts Cast off.
Neckband
Sew up right shoulder seam, and ½” of left shoulder.
Using No. 12 needles and blue wool, pick up and k about 108 sts around neck
Work in rib of K1, P1 for 1″.
Cast off in ribbing.
Shoulder Pads
Using No. 9 needles and blue wool, cast on 38 sts
Work 48 rows st st. Cast off.
Fold diagonally, pad with cotton wool and sew up edges.
To Make Up
Press lightly on wrong side of work with a warm iron and damp cloth.
Sew in sleeves and shoulder pads.
Sew up side and sleeve seams.
Work 1 row of DC around shoulder opening. Sew on press studs.
