Pyjama Stripes Afghan Square

Materials

I used 25gm of Patons Fireside 8 ply 100% Wool in light pink (colour 1870) at approx 110 yards or 90 metres per 50gm ball and 25gm Patons Totem 8 ply 100% Wool in dark blue (colour 244) at approx 100 yards, or 75metres per 50gm ball

Tension

20sts and 28 rows to 4 inches (10cm) over st st on 4mm needles, or needles needed to obtain gauge.

Abbreviations

K = Knit
P = Purl
st-st = stocking st
LT = Left Twist: Keeping colours correct, knit into the back of the 2nd stitch on the left hand needle, then knit into the front of the 1st stitch on the left hand needle and drop both sts off the needle. LT is represented
thus: Left Twist Symbol on the chart below.

Technique

Using needles to obtain gauge cast on 47sts.

Using the intarsia method, work as follows:

1st row: Knit 6 pink, (K5 blue, K5 pink) rep across row to last st, K1 pink

2nd row: Keeping colours correct, purl across

Continue, following chart until you have worked 65 rows from beginning

Cast off neatly and block.
