Materials
I used approximately 55gm pale pink 8ply (DK) wool @ 100m (105yd) per 50gm
Tension
20sts and 28 rows to 4 inches (10cm) over st st on 4.5mm needles, or needles needed to obtain gauge.
Abbreviations
= C4B, Cable 4 Back: Slip next 2 stitches to cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 2 stitches from left hand needle, then knit stitches from cable needle
= C4F, Cable 4 Front: Slip next 2 stitches to cable needle and hold at front of work, knit next 2 stitches from left hand needle, then knit stitches from cable needle
Technique
Cast on 62sts and work following chart, beginning with a wrong side row. (Work the first row from left to right, you should work 10 cables in each row). Work through the chart 4 times, then repeat rows 1 and 2 once more. Cast off in pattern.

Row 1 (WS): K3, P8, * K4, P8; rep from * to last 3 stitches, K3
Row 2: P3, K8, *P4, K8; rep from * to last 3 stitches, P3
Row 3: As Row 1
Row 4: P3, C4F, C4B, * P4, C4B, C4F, P4, C4F, C4B; rep from * to last 3 stitches, P3
Rows 5 – 7: As Rows 1 – 3
Row 8: P3, C4B, C4F, * P4, C4F, C4B, P4, C4B, C4F; rep from * to last 3 stitches, P3
Rows 9 – 11: As Rows 1 – 3
Row 12: As Row 8
Rows 13 – 15: As Rows 1 – 3
Row 16: As Row 4
Repeat Rows 1-16, four times. Then repeat Rows 1 & 2 once more. Cast off in pattern.
