Garter ripple baby blanket designed by Eboousm
Materials
US size 7/4.5mm needles (circulars work best)
DK-Worsted weight yarn (I used Baby Bee Sweet Delight), about 3 balls
Pattern
Cast on 168 stitches
Row 1: K2, YO, K3, K2tog, * K2tog, K3, YO, K1, YO, K3, K2tog; repeat from * to last 7 sts, K2tog, K3, YO, K2.
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: Knit
Repeat these three rows until you reach the desired length.
How would you increase for adult?
Hi Linda,
It all depends on how large you’d like to make the blanket. The repeated part of the pattern is 11 stitches and there are an extra 3 stitches for the selvage. So if you cast on any multiple of 11 plus 3 then the pattern will work. Making a swatch of at least 25 sts is probably the best way to work it out. Just remember not to measure the first two and last st when you measure for gauge.

I keep looking at the pattern and am a little confused. Shouldn’t the last 7 stitches be exactly like the beginning, before the (?
No, it’s correct.
When you get to last 12 stitches, it tells you to do the row but there is 13 stitches, not 12, so what do I do??
Hi Sue,
I’ve rechecked the math in the pattern and you should definitely only have 12 stitches left.
This is only three rows. After the third row, you would be starting over with row one on the wrong side? Is this correct?
Hi Sandra,
Yes that’s correct.
I can’t get a consistent stitch count either. I notice from the written pattern that during the repeat we decrease two stitches and then increase two stitches which cancel each other out so your stitch count would remain the same. We are also instructed make a YO at each edge, but there are no decreases. Could this be why the stitch count is off?
The pattern is correct as it is. The yo at the beginning is balanced out at the end of the row. I double checked it with a stitch map just to make sure.

I’ve moved the asterix to make the way the beginning and end sections balance clearer.
I have started to make strips of this pattern and have lost the pattern, could u help m?
Hi Anna,
All you need to do is print the page you left this comment on ?
