Needles
UK # 8 (US # 6 or Metric 4mm) needles

Abbreviations

x = times

yf = yarn forward (also know as yarn over)

k2tog = knit 2 together

k3tog = knit 3 together

tbl = through back of loop

c4f = cable 4 forward: Slip 2 sts to cable needle and hold in front of work. K2, then knit the 2sts from cable needle.

yrn = yarn round needle (also known as yarn over)

Tw2R = twist 2 right: Slip 1 st to cable needle and hold in back of work. K1, then knit the st from cable needle.

Tw2L = Slip 1 st to cable needle and hold in front of work. K1, then knit the st from cable needle.

p2tog = purl 2 together

p3tog = purl 3 together

Cast on 101 sts

Knit 2 rows (mark centre stitch)

3rd row: K1 (yf, k2tog) 24x, k3tog (k2tog tbl, yf) 24x, k1

4th row: knit

5th row: Knit to within 1 stitch of the centre, k3tog, knit to end

6th row: k2 *(p2, k1, k twice in next st, k1) 9x, p1; rep from * to last 4, p1, k2

7th row: k2 (k2, p4) 9x, k3tog, (p4, k2) 9x, k2

8th row: k2 (p2, c4f)9x, p1 (c4b, p2)9x, k2
