My favourite recipe from this collection has to be the clove lemon syrup. At first I thought the cloves would be a rather unpleasant addition but they really make the difference between ordinary lemon cordial (I think that’s ‘lemonade’ to my American visitors), and something special. Make a batch and add a spoonful to ice water whenever you get thirsty 🙂
