Granny Square Edging for Round Motifs

UK crochet terms are used throughout this pattern

These motifs were made on a 2½” flower loom with dk weight yarn (Australian 8 ply thickness) and a 4mm crochet hook.

The edging can be adapted for flowers and yarn of any size by changing the number of chains and trebles worked.

Begin by winding a flower with two loops per petal. Work a centre of your choice.

For the first round, make a slip knot and put it on your hook. Make a slip stitch into the first petal and work 3 chain.

Work two trebles (US double crochet) into the petal. Chain 1.

* Work 3 trebles into the next petal, chain 1; repeat from * all the way around your flower and join to the beginning of the round with a slip st. If you want to change colours, cut the yarn and fasten off.

Join your next colour into a space and work 3 chain. Work 2 treble (US double crochet) into the same space. Chain 1

(3 treble into the next space, chain 1) three times, chain 1
