This cute little elephant originally adorned one of the many cotton scarves in my (quite obsessive) scarf collection. He was so cute I just had to chart him so he could decorate knitwear as well! He would look particularly handsome worked on a patch pocket on a child's classic style cardigan.

Knit your garment in plain stocking st and add the motif afterwards using duplicate st embroidery. To counteract the chunkiness inevitable in a knitted motif you can embroider an outline round the body using a neat outline st. For this colourway I would use either red or black.
