Using fawn wool work 10 rows in stocking st.
To Shape Neck:
K.27, tum.
Continue in stocking st., dec. once at neck edge in every 4th row till 21 sts. remain, ending neck edge.
To Shape Shoulder:
1st row: Work to last 7 sts., turn.
2nd row: Work to end.
3rd row: Work to last 14 sts., turn.
4th row: Work to end.
Cast off.
Join in wool at neck edge.
Cast off 16 sts., work on remaining sts. to correspond with other shoulder.
Back
Work as given from ** to ** for front.
Then continue in stocking st. till work measures same as front to underarm.
To Shape Armhole:
Cast off 6 sts. at beg. of next 2 rows.
Then dec. once each end of needle in next and every alt. row till 70 sts. remain.
Work without shaping till work measures same as front at armhole edge.
To Shape Shoulder:
1st and 2nd rows: Work to last 7 sts., turn.
3rd and 4th rows: Work to last 14 sts., turn.
5th row: Work to end.
Cast off.
Sleeves (both alike)
Using smaller needles and brown wool cast on 54 sts.
Work in rib of K1, P1 for 2½ inches.
Change to larger needles and fawn wool.
Work in stocking st., inc. once at each end of next and every following 6th row till there are 72 sts.
Work without shaping till work measures 12 inches from commencement.
To Shape Top:
Cast off 6 sts. at beg. of next 2 rows.
Then dec. once at each end of needle in next and 4 alt. rows.
Then each end of row in every row till 24 sts. remain.
Cast off 8 sts. at beg. of each row.
Neckband
Join up right shoulder.
Using smaller needles and brown wool, with right side facing pick up 100sts. evenly round neck.
Work 10 rows in rib of K1, P1.
Cast off in rib.
To Make Up
Press lightly.
Sew up left shoulder.
Sew in sleeves.
Sew up side and sleeve seams.
