Materials
I used approximately 40gm dark blue 8ply 100% Wool of unknown brand and a scrap each of dark pink, bright pink and green, also of unknown brands.
Tension
20sts and 28 rows to 4 inches (10cm) over st-st on 4.5mm needles, or needles needed to obtain gauge.
Abbreviations
st-st = stocking st
Technique
Cast on 47sts and work 19 rows st st, then work chart using the intarsia technique, beginning from the left as you are working a wrong side row.
Work a further 20 rows st st, cast off
Block square, then embroider around lips using chain stitch. Embroider lip dividing line using chain stitch
Using green work cross stitch around edges of square, making each cross 3 stitches wide and 4 rows tall.
