Tiny lace knit edging knitted from a Victorian era knitting pattern

from “The Ladies’ Guide to Elegant Lace Patterns, Etc.”

The sample was knit with perle 5 cotton on 3mm needles and measures 2½ cm/1″ wide

Pattern

In Words

Cast on 5 sts and knit 1 row

Row 1 (RS): sl 1, yo, k2tog, (yo, k1) twice

Row 2 (WS): k7

Row 3: sl 1, yo, k2tog, k2, (yo, k1) twice

Row 4: Cast off 4, k4

These 4 rows form the pattern. Repeat for desired length.
