Lace Collar Pattern No 4

Lace knit collar with large eyelet daisies and eyelet ribbing.

Bottom of the Collar

Cast on 44 stitches and knit one row.

Row 1 (Setup Row) (RS): K5, P19, yo, p2tog, K8, [yo, k2tog] twice, [yo] 3 times, [k2tog] twice, yo, K2.

Row 2: K5, (k1, p1, K1, P1) into the triple yo made on the previous row, K12, yo, p2tog, P24.

Row 3: K7, [yo, k2tog] 8 times, K1, yo, p2tog, K2, k2tog, [yo] twice, k2tog, K3, [yo, k2tog] twice, K4, k2tog, yo, K2.

Rows 4: K17, P1, K3, yo, p2tog, P24.

Row 5: K24, yo, p2tog, [k2tog, [yo] twice, k2tog] twice, K2, [yo, k2tog] twice, K3, k2tog, yo, K2.

Row 6: K15, P1, K3, P1, K1, yo, p2tog, P24.

Heading Option 1

Since the original 1891 version of this pattern merely says “cast on 10sts and knit an edge like the bottom of the collar” for the header, I have given three different patterns. Each one matches a different section of the main part of the collar.

Cast on 13 stitches.

Making Up

Stitch the bottom of the lace to the header, pleating the bottom to fit if necessary.
