Materials
Approximately 700gm of 8ply (DK) yarn in various colours to match your afghan centre @ approx 90m (100 yards) per 50gm 1pr 4.5mm needles (or 4mm if you are using Worsted weight yarn)
Tension
20sts and 40 rows to 10cm (4 inches) over garter st using 4.5mm needles
Abbreviations
WT = Wrap and Turn: K to the point where your pattern says to turn but don’t turn the work yet.
Bring your yarn to the front of the work,
Sl the next st from the left hand needle,
take your yarn to the back of the work,
Sl the st back to the left hand needle.
Turn your work.
The next time you knit the wrapped st, knit the wrapped yarn along with the stitch it is wrapped around, thus:
Put the needle up through the wrap on the right side of the work,
put the needle through the st and K the two together.
Method
Beginning at the bottom right hand corner, cast on 23sts and knit 46 rows.
*Change colour, K 46 rows.** Rep from * to **until you have worked 14 coloured squares from the beginning of your work.
