Pretty Pattern for Basket Serviettes

Six stitches to a pattern. Cast on 76 stitches, knit 2 plain at each edge.

First row:--Make 1, knit 1, make 1, knit 2 together, knit 1, knit 2 together.

Second row:--Seamed.

Third row:--Make 1, knit 3, make 1, knit 3 together.

Fourth row:--Seamed.

Fifth row:--Knit 2 together, knit 1, knit 2 together, make 1, knit 1, make 1.

Sixth row:--Seamed.

Seventh row:--Knit 3 together, make 1, knit 3, make 1.

Eighth row:--Seamed. Repeat from first row. The plain rows between may be knit, instead of seamed, if wished.

Pattern repeats over 6 sts. Cast on a multiple of 6, plus 4 (for garter edges.)

Knit two rows plain for garter stitch edge.

Row 1: K2, * yo, k1, yo, k2tog, k1, k2tog, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.

Row 2: K2, p to last 2 sts, k2.

Row 3: K2, * yo, k3, yo, k3tog, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.

Row 4: K2, p to last 2 sts, k2.

Row 5: K2, * k2tog, k1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.

Row 6: K2, p to last 2 sts, k2.

Row 7: K2, * k3tog, yo, k3, yo, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.

Row 8: K2, p to last 2 sts, k2.

Repeat rows 1-8 for desired length.

Purl 2 rows plain for garter stitch edge. Bind off.

Row 6: K to end.

Row 7: K2, * k3tog, yo, k3, yo, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.

Row 8: K to end.

Repeat rows 1-8 for desired length.

Purl 2 rows plain for garter stitch edge. Bind off.

yo = yarn over (bring yarn forward between the needles and to back over right needle)

k2tog = knit two stitches together

k3tog = knit three stitches together

sts = stitches
