Overhand Knot
From KnitWiki
To make an overhand knot, hold two ends of yarn together with the tails matching in length. While holding the tails together as one, create a loop with the tails lapping over the top of the working end of the yarn. Place the tails underneath the loop and draw them up through the loop. Pull the tails snugly to fasten the knot.
