Fetching
From KnitWiki
The Fetching Mitts appeared in the Summer 2006 issue of Knitty online magazine. This very popular pattern is a quick knit in worsted-weight yarn and includes a very effective cable pattern and an afterthought thumb. It's a great first project for knitting in the round.
The pattern notes that one 50g ball of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK is just enough for a pair, however most people I know who have made Fetching have made them a little longer and used 1 1/2 balls.
I made one minor change to the pattern when I knitted it: I centred the stitches for the afterthought thumb over one of the rib panels, working k4, k6 with waste yarn, instead of k7 with waste yarn. That's just cause I'm pedantic!
