Crochet Chain

Sometimes a special knitting technique requires some crochet. Here is the way to create a simple crochet chain. Oddly, each loop of the total chain is also itself called a chain.

Make a slip knot and put it on the crochet hook. This is the first loop.

Wrap the working yarn around the hook; pull the hook down so it catches the wrapped yarn and pulls it through the loop on the hook, pulling the loop off the end of the hook. One chain has been created. Repeat for whatever length is desired.
