Cable Cast-On
From KnitWiki
This cast-on is closely related to the knitted cast-on.
[edit] Benefits and Drawbacks
This edge is firm and has a neat, corded look, although it may be too bulky with thick yarns.
[edit] Method
To begin, create two stitches by using the knit-on cast-on above (a slip knot and one stitch). Insert the right-hand needle in the space between the previous two stitches and the space between the left-hand needle and the work, loop the yarn around and draw through, as when creating a knit stitch. Place the new loop on the left-hand needle as the next stitch.
