Afghans for Afghans
From KnitWiki
afghans for Afghans is a charitable organization that collects hand-knit and crocheted wool blankets, sweaters, vests, hats, mittens, and socks for displaced children and adults in Afghanistan. Started in 2001, they have been overwhelmed with donations from around the world. With support from major knitting magazines, they have been endorsed by popular knitting blogs and regional knitting guilds. Patterns have been donated by famous knit and crochet designers including Vanna White and Annie Modesitt.
