Flower Looms: Cluster Stitch Flower V2

This pattern is intended for dk weight yarn worked on a 3 inch flower with a 3.5mm/Size E hook.

Experiment with other thicknesses of yarn and hook sizes for different sized flowers.

Firstly make a flower with a smallish centre. Each petal should have two rounds of yarn.

Abbreviations

yrn = yarn round hook

Outer round

Each petal is made up of two loops.

In each petal work:

*Slip stitch

chain 3

** yrh, hook through first chain,

yrh and pull through (3 loops on hook)

yrh and pull through two loops (2 loops on hook);

repeat from ** twice more (4 loops on hook)

yrh and pull through all 4 loops

chain 1

Repeat from * for each of the remaining 11 petals.

Join to the beginning of the round with a slip stitch.

To work the inner round

Join the yarn to the right hand side of one of the petals near the centre of the flower with a slip stitch.

You can adjust the position as you go if it's not right.

Skip the next petal completely and join to the right hand side of the third petal with a slip stitch. Continue crocheting into every second petal in this manner until you have worked 6 petals.

Join to the beginning of the round with a slip stitch.
