Cluster Stitch Loomed Flowers

A custer stitch crochet flower made on a loom

The Crazy Daisy Boutique pattern book by Hero Cluster stitch flowers form a part of the carriage robe pattern in the “Crazy Daisy” Boutique pattern book by Hero.

This pattern is intended for dk weight yarn worked on a 2½ inch flower with a 3.5mm/Size E hook.

Experiment with other thicknesses of yarn and hook sizes for different sized flowers.

Firstly make a flower with a smallish centre. Each petal should have two rounds of yarn.

Abbreviations

yrn = yarn round hook

Outer round

Each petal is made up of two loops.

In each petal work:

*Double crochet (US single crochet)

chain 3

** yrh, hook through first chain,

yrh and pull through (3 loops on hook)

yrh and pull through two loops (2 loops on hook)

yrh, hook through first chain,

yrh and pull through (4 loops on hook)

yrh and pull through all 4 loops

Repeat from * for each of the remaining 11 petals.

Join to the beginning of the round with a slip stitch.

Where to put the hook to begin the inner round of crochet To work the inner round

Join the yarn to the right hand side of one of the petals near the centre of the flower with a double crochet (US single crochet).

You can adjust the position as you go if it’s not right.

chain 3

** yrh, hook through first chain,

yrh and pull through (3 loops on hook)

yrh and pull through two loops (2 loops on hook)

yrh, hook through first chain

yrh and pull through (4 loops on hook)

yrh and pull through all 4 loops

Skip the next petal completely and join to the right hand side of the third petal with a slip stitch. Continue crocheting into every second petal in this manner until you have worked 6 petals.

The finished cluster stitch flower Join to the beginning of the round with a slip stitch.

Darn in the loose ends on the back of the flower.
