Knitted lace with narrow loop edging
from “The Ladies’ Guide to Elegant Lace Patterns, Etc.”

The sample was knit with size 10 perle cotton and 2.25mm needles and measures 3¼ cm/1¼” wide

Pattern

In Words

Note: All double yarn overs are made into two stitches on the following row by working “k1, p1” into them.

Cast on 9 sts and knit 1 row

Row 1 (RS): sl 1, k2, yo, k2tog, k1, (yo) twice, k2tog, k1

Row 2 (WS): k3, p1, k3, yo, k2tog, k1

Row 3: sl 1, k2, yo, k2tog, k5

Row 4: k7, yo, k2tog, k1

Row 5: sl 1, k2, yo, k2tog, k1, *(yo) twice, k2tog; repeat from * once more.

Row 6: (k2, p1) twice, k3, yo, k2tog, k1

Row 7: sl 1, k2, yo, k2tog, k7

Row 8: Cast off 3, k5, yo, k2tog, k1

These 8 rows form the pattern. Repeat for the desired length.
