The sample was knit with size 10 perle cotton and 2.25mm needles and measures 4½ cm/1¾" wide

Cast on 9 sts and knit 1 row.

Row 1 (RS): k3, (ssk, yo) twice, k1, yo, k1

Row 2 (WS): (k1, p1) three times, k4

Row 3: k2, (ssk, yo) twice, k3, yo, k1

Row 4: k1, p1, k3, p1, k1, p1, k3

Row 5: k1, (ssk, yo) twice, k5, yo, k1

Row 6: k1, p1, k5, p1, k1, p1, k2

Row 7: k3, (yo, k2tog) twice, k1, ssk, yo, k2tog

Row 8: k1, p1, k3, p1, k1, p1, k3

Row 9: k4, yo, k2tog, yo, k3tog, yo, k2tog

Row 10: (k1, p1) three times, k4

Row 11: k5, yo, k3tog, yo, k2tog
