Pattern for Knitted Curtains by Isabella Beeton

From "Beeton's Book of Needlework" 1870

In it's original form, this pattern was very confusing and somewhat incomplete, making it difficult for people without lace knitting experience to work out. I've completed the pattern and added edge stitches so that it matches the engraving of the sample in the book exactly.

The swatch shown above was knit with size 8 cotton on 2.25mm/Old UK 13/US size 1 needles.

Pattern

Cast on a multiple of 10sts plus 3 extra and knit one row.

Special note: All double yarn overs are worked as a single stitch on the following row. Work the first loop of the double yarn over and drop the second loop off the needle.
