2 balls (100 grams) worsted weight yarn (sample was knit with 110gms wool) 5mm needles
Gauge
17sts and 32 rows to 10cm over garter st on 5mm needles (for a higher neck portion use worsted weight yarn and 5½mm needles)

Pattern
Cast on 38 sts
Row 1: * k14, p14, k1 (yo, k2tog) 4 times, yo, k1
Row 2: knit 25, turn
Row 3: p14, k2 (yo, k2tog) 4 times, yo, k1
Row 4: knit 26, turn
Row 5: p14, k3 (yo, k2tog) 4 times, yo, k1
Row 6: knit to end of row (41 sts)
Row 7: k 32, (yo, k2tog) 4 times, yo, k1
Row 8: k 12, p16, turn
Row 9: k 19, (yo, k2tog) 4 times, yo, k1
Row 10: k 13, p16, turn
Row 11: Knit
Row 12: Cast off 5 stitches. K9, p15, k14 *
These 12 rows complete one point. Repeat until desired size. There are 23 -25 points in an average size neck for a woman 5’2″ tall and 29 – 31 points in an average size neck for a woman 5’10” tall.
Cast off. Add snaps to neck top only.
