Row 4: Purl.

Repeat last 2 rows until you are left with 4 stitches, ending with row 3.

Knit the next 3 rows.

Next row: K1, M1, K2, M1, K1
Next row: Purl
Next row: K1, M1, K4, M1, K1
Next row: Purl

Increase in this way every second row until you have 14 sts again.

K 1 row.
Cast off stitches neatly purlwise.

Bind same thread tightly over middle of the ribbon. You might add embroidery or beads. Use as hair adornment, bow tie or pin.

Tips:
Use a “fur” yarn and stick tiny pompoms in the middle after binding the thread.
Make in Christmas colours and stiffen with fabric stiffener or PVA glue for package decorations
When binding the middle of the bow trap a hair elastic so you have a pony tail band with a bow on it.

For a baby, knit a headband in garter stitch and sew the bow on top.
