Knitted Table Centre

As a change from the usual crocheted table centrepiece here is an attractive knitted one which measures 11 inches in diameter.
Materials:
No. 20 mercer cotton
a set of four No. 13 needles, preferably steel, as the finer gauges in
bone generally tend to break.
Abbreviations:
K = knit;
P = purl;
YO = Yarn Over;
YO2 = Yarn over twice;
Sl1 = slip one stitch;
tog = together;
PSSO - pass the slipped stitch over.
Method:
Cast one stitch on to each of three needles: then knit one round: The
stitches given in. each round are to be repeated to the end of round.
Alternate rounds will be knitted to the 60th round.
1st Round: YO, K1
3rd Round: YO, K1
5th Round: YO, K2
7th Round: YO, K3
9th Round: YO, K4
11th Round: YO, K5
13th Round: YO, K6
15th round: YO, K7
17th Round: YO, K8
19th Round: YO, K1, YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO, K6
21st Round: YO, K3, YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO, K5
23rd Round: YO, K5, YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO, K4
25th Round: YO, K7, YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO, K3
27th Round: YO, K9, YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO, K2
29th Round: YO, K11, YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO, K1
31st Round: YO, K13, YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO
33rd Round: YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO, K13, YO, K1. Before beginning the 35th round, slip the last 2 sts from the 3rd needle to the 1st; the last two from the 1st needle to the 2nd, and the last two from the 2nd needle to the 3rd.
35th Round: YO, K1, YO, K2tog, YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO, K12
37th Round: YO, K1, (YO, K2tog) twice, YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO, K 11
39th Round: YO, K1, (YO, K2tog) 3 times, YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO, K10

61st, 62nd and 63rd Rounds: Purl.
64th Round: YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO.
65th, 66th and 67th Rounds: Purl.
68th Round: YO2, K6.
69th Round: K1, P1, K6,
70th Round (YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO) twice, K1, YO, K1, K2tog
71st Round: Knit.
72nd Round: YO, K into back of next stitch, (YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO) twice, K1, K2tog
73rd Round: Knit.
74th Round: YO2, K into back of next stitch, (YO2, Sl1, K1, PSSO) twice, YO2, Sl1, K2 tog, PSSO. Rep.
75th Round: Cast off by working P1, K1, P1 into the double yarn over, casting off at the same time.
