Materials: Abbreviations: Diameter: Method: Round 1: yo, k1. Repeat to end of round. Round 2: p1, k1. Repeat to end of round. Round 3: yo, p1, k1. Repeat to end of round. Round 4: k1, p1, k1. Repeat to end of round. Round 5: yo, k1, p1, k1. Repeat to end of round Round 6: p1, k1. Repeat to end. Round 7: yo, (p1, k1) twice. Repeat to end. Round 8: k1, (p1, k1) twice. Repeat to end. Round 9: yo, k1, (p1, k1) twice. Repeat to end. Round 10: pl, k1. Repeat to end of round. Continue thus in ribbing, until you have 25 stitches between yarn overs. After the final increasing, work one round in ribbing (as round l0.) Then work the petals thus: Row 1: yo, k2 tog, (p1, k1) five times, p3tog, (k1, p1) five times, k1; now turn, and using the 6th needle proceed: Row 2: yo, k2tog, *p1, k1. Repeat from * to end of row, turn Row 3: yo, k2tog, (p1, k1) four times, p1, k3tog, (p1, k1) five times. Row 4 and alternate rows: As row 2. Row 5: yo, k2tog, (p1, k1) four times, p3tog, (k1, p1) four times, k1. Row 7: yo, k2tog, (p1, k1) three times, p1, k3tog, (p1, k1) four times. Row 9: yo, k2tog, (p1, k1) three times, p3tog, (k1, p1) three times, k1. Row 11: yo, k2tog, (p1, k1) twice, p1, k3tog, (p1, k1) three times. Row 13: yo, k2tog, (p1, k1) twice, p3tog, (k1, p1) twice, k1. Row 15: yo, k2tog, p1, k1, p1, k3tog, (p1, k1) twice Row 17: yo, k2tog, p1, k1, p3tog, k1, p1, k1 Row 19: yo, k2tog, p1, k3tog, p1, k1 Row 21: yo, k2tog, p3tog, k1 Row 22: yo, k2tog, p1, k1 Row 23: yo, k2tog, p2tog Row 24: yo, k3tog. Row 25: k2tog. Finish off. Now take the next 26 stitches and work them in the same way, then continue round until you have all the petals completed. Fasten off all ends securely. Press on the wrong side with a hot iron and a damp cloth.
