The Odd-Ball Sampler Afghan: Adapting the Size

Knitted samler blanket made of various squares
It’s very simple to adapt the size of the finished afghan.

Simply sew together the number of squares that you want for your finished afghan centre, making sure that the size of the centre is 22.5cm (9 inches) shorter (both length and width) than you want your finished afghan to be.

Work the border, following the main directions, working from * to ** for twice the number of squares on the appropriate side.

For example, if you have made an afghan 3 squares wide by 4 squares high you would work your border thus:

Work from * to ** 8 times

turn corner (following instructions from *** to ****)

Work from * to ** 6 times

turn corner (following instructions from *** to ****)

Work from * to ** 8 times

Graft the ends together following border instructions.
