Begin your lace by working steps 1-5 from the basic directions |

1: Yarn round hook and pull the thread through the loop on the hook. Put your crochet hook under the front strand of the loop that has just been created on the left hand side of the fork, yarn round hook, pull loop through (2 loops on hook) |

3: Put your crochet hook under the front strand of the loop again, yarn round hook, pull loop through (4 loops on hook) |

5: Put your crochet hook under the front strand of the loop again, yarn round hook, pull loop through (6 loops on hook) |

6: Yarn round hook and draw through all six loops on the hook - tree stitch complete |

7: Pass your hook through the top of the fork and turn the fork one half a turn in a clockwise direction. Your yarn will automatically wind around the fork. |

Repeat steps 1-7 until you have the desired number of loops on each side of your braid, ending with step 6.
Cut the yarn, thread it through the loop on the crochet hook and pull to fasten off. |
