Replies and Things

I thought I'd better let people who are leaving questions for me in the blog comments know that I do try and reply to everyone who is asking about a pattern or project from this website, or about my book etc. I reply privately so that I know the person who asks the question sees the answer which is why you don't see my replies in the blog comments.

I have about a zillion things I wish I had time to post about and hope to get to the interesting ones once Charlie and I have some sort of established routine. I've never breast-fed a baby before so I don't know when that will be (Sorry if that was too much information, lol) :P

Topics include:

Sewing for baby boys - things I have made and learning to draft a pair of simple baby pants

The year of the toy - I have many vintage sewing and knitting patterns to share! I'm pretty sure they date from the 1930's to the 1950's so I can put the patterns online.

Oya and Armenian needle lace - I have some amazing book-finds to tell you about

And I want to see if I can find at least an hour a day to update the website with all the things that have been pending for far too long. That will take longer to work out, I'm sure. I also might redesign the home page into a smaller number of topics, for example: Sewing - with a list of the sewing related topics underneath, rather than each topic having a separate thumbnail. We'll see how I go anyway...

I am interested in making the psychedelic square afghan posted on ravelry. I love it! Can you tell me what the reverse side looks like?

Sarah,
Congratulations on the baby! There is just something special about the bond between a mother and her son, especially one you have nursed. My baby is 29, so it's been a while.
I was thrilled to see your rag rug loom. I had seen a picture of 2 old rug looms on the Rag Rug Makers Exchange, and decided to make one for myself, using the idea presented there for the tension devise which consisted of a clamping device to hold the threads taut, it's been a dismal failure. Your solid wood piece with the V-slots made so much more sense, especially as you wrap the yarn to hold it tight. I would like to know if you could send me the measurements for the height and width of the tension device, as I plan to take the one I have off and add one like yours.
I have enjoyed your site for years. But I never realized that you were in Australia.
Again, congrats on the baby, and enjoy the time he is small as it passes too soon.

WOW GIRL!!!!!! I just found your lace edgings website and I almost cried!
My brother is getting married to a wonderful woman that I am delighted to knit a garter for. No pattern I've found is worthy of this happy day so I'm putting together one! The very first lace edging on your page is exactly what i was looking for except 8x's more beautiful.
Thank you for sharing these priceless patterns.
*sorry to put this comment in such an odd place, but the website was disabled for comments due to spam*
THANK YOU!

Hi Sarah,

I found your website over a year ago, and am astounded at the wealth of patterns! I love them!! There is one in particular which I adore, and it is one that you haven't linked yet - the end of the URL is 'mittens with hearts' - does that ring a bell?
I thought maybe after a year I should just write you and see if there is any chance of getting that pattern...

I understand if things are baby centered, and will not be hurt if you don't reply. Hope you are having a lovely time with your little one.

Many thanks for sharing,

Jaige
