A Hat. Yes, ANOTHER Hat.

Please excuse my crappy photo, it was taken on a wig stand that's slightly too small for my hat.

You see, despite how much I LOVE this hat, it looks really awful on me, so I wasn't about to inflict a photo of myself wearing it upon y'all.

Luckily I have enough yarn to make another one which will have icord instead of ribbing, and should suit me fine.

This is one of my own any-yarn designs (not in my book though), knit sideways and then the rib is picked up and knit down. I used a skein of handpainted stuff I bought at the Aussie Sheep and Wool Show last year. It's aran weight wool, the name of which totally escapes me (sorry!).

Actually, I'm thinking I possibly won't be making myself a hat out of what's left because I've just figured out what caused my psoriasis to flare up all down the front of my neck and shoulders in the last 10 minutes! Damn...

Oh well, it'll make some kickass blanket squares. We can never get enough hand knit blankies in this family

:-)

Currently soaking is my finished BWD! At the encouragement of Diane (in the comments for January 27th) I cast off using a totally different colour and I really like the way it looks. I used a light apple green perle 8 cotton. Now I just have to cast on 6 repeats and test the rest of the pattern so I can put up the corrections.

Wish me luck!
