The Granny Hexagon Join

Method

You will need 7 granny circles. One for the centre and 6 to sew around it.

Put one circle in the centre. Sew circle 1 to centre circle with 6 stitches.

Sew circle 2 to circle 1 with 6 stitches, and to the centre circle with 5 stitches.

Sew circle 3 to circle 2 with 6 stitches and to the centre with 5 stitches. (Any time you join 3 circles at a corner, pick up a stitch on each of the other 2 circles, making a triangular corner, as you can see in the diagram).

Sew circle 4 to circle 5 with 5 stitches, and to the centre with 6 stitches (making a triangular corner again).

Sew circle 5 to circle 4 with 5 stitches, and to the centre with 5 stitches.

Sew circle 6 to circle 5 with 5 stitches, to the centre with 6 stitches, and finally to circle 1 with 5 stitches.
